We are happy to announce A retained list for the coming season, all players to be mentioned below are signed and excited to get started. Each and every player at the club are unique in their own way both on and off the pitch, nevertheless they all share the same goal and drive for the club.
Christian Davies has committed to the Saints for the coming season, the box to box midfielder adds quality and passion to our squad. With spells at Welsh League clubs in the past few years, we are excited to see Chris in a Saints top for the 2020/21 season.
Along with his footballing ability, Chris is a B Licence Holder who can offer an insight to on field scenarios with good friend and Manager Rhys Llewellyn.
Another key player to commit to the 2020/21 season is Craig James, making it his 12th season in a Saints kit. Making the club part of his life, Craig has been a massive part of the Saints and our success over the past 12 years.
On field Craig has his sights on being the clubs highest top goalscorer ever, even though he has spent most of his time playing as a Centre Midfielder. This season could see Craig being involved further up the pitch, having his say in A lot of goals for the Saints.
In previous years Craig has took charge of the club from a managerial and playing point of view, since becoming A business owner he has moved away from a more hands on approach with the team. Nevertheless Craig is always involved in discussions with Manager Rhys Llewellyn and takes on a strong leadership role on the pitch.
Merthyr Saints Captain Rhys Edwards has committed to another season with the Saints, Rhys has played at the heart of the defence for 8 seasons.
Being involved with all the success at the club, Rhys bring great experience in the South Wales Alliance Premiership. With the club making plenty of signings, Rhys will play a big role in leading by example on how individuals should behave both on and off the field.
We are excited to see Rhys lead the Saints out for his 9th Season at the club.

Manager Rhys Llewellyn spoke with us about the retained players for the 2020/21 season.
"I am happy to have all the players retained with us for another season, as it was my first season last year I couldn't thank all the players involved enough. It was a tough season, but the first ones always are. My Target was to stay in the league and create a foundation for the 2020/21 season, everyone of the players above have bought into what I am trying to do at the club and have been excellent with myself and my Ideas.
I am excited to see what the new season brings, but even more excited to improve on what we did last season both on and off the field."
